EXMOOD is a mobile app for looking after your mental health, designed as a team for the DIMAS-TI AMLI 2022 UI/UX competition. It brings mood detection, guided meditation, counseling with psychologists, a space to vent, and a personal journey into one app.

Problem
Help is hard to find, and hard to afford.
Our research (a survey of 26 people and interviews with two people aged 15 to 25) kept surfacing the same problems: mental-health information online felt ambiguous, consultations were expensive, and many had no one they trusted to talk to.
Goals
- (1)Put trustworthy mental-health information in one place.
- (2)Make professional counseling easier to choose and afford.
- (3)Offer a safe space to talk, even without a counselor.

Challenge
Five features, one calm app.
Mood detection, meditation, counseling, venting, and a personal journey all compete for attention. With research and design packed into three weeks, the app had to hold all five without feeling busy, on a topic where every screen needs to feel safe.

Solution
Fewer choices on every screen.
We designed around Hick's Law: the more choices on a screen, the longer a decision takes, so each screen asks for one thing. Counselors come with ratings, reviews, and prices, so users can pick one they can afford. Mood detection reads facial expressions to suggest a next step, and a vent space lets users share and read each other's stories.

Result
1st place, and 14.2 out of 15 in testing.
EXMOOD won first place at DIMAS-TI AMLI 2022. In guerrilla usability testing, five participants gave it an average of 14.2 out of 15.
